Connect has been working with CabFind
Ltd to help taxi companies exploit the
real business benefits of the
Internet. Working in partnership with
CabFind Ltd, Connect has developed a
sophisticated extranet solution to
enable online taxi bookings by large
account customers such as the NHS and
social services.
The system allows the taxi customer to
make single or multiple bookings
online, leaving telephone operators
free to handle traditional calls. The
system can also invoice the customer.
Clients signing up to use the system
include Aintree Hospitals NHS Trust,
NHS Walton Centre for Neurology, Royal
Liverpool Children's NHS Trust, Alder
Hey,
Trust Children’s Alder Hey and the
Royal Liverpool Hospital. Interest is
also being shown across the UK from
sectors as diverse as the rail network
and the prison service.
Since its launch, the CabFind booking
system has helped a number of taxi
firms attract extra business from high
volume users as well as improving
services for existing customers. Davy
Liver now uses the system at its
control centre in Duke Street and its
other business, Wirral Satellite Cars,
also uses CabFind. Derek Moon, Radio
Room Manager at Davy Liver, said: "I
was amazed by this technology. CabFind
has now become an essential piece of
software."
Duncan Sime, Account Manager at
Connect, comments, “We are delighted
with the response that CabFind has
received from both taxi suppliers and
their clients. CabFind is such a
unique and innovative Internet-based
system that it now has a patent
pending. We are sure that CabFind
will become a universal operating
system in a very short space of time,
perhaps even becoming mandatory with
large organisations.”
